Allen Street Flower Farm grows a wide variety of some of mother nature's greatest creations, and we grow them with pride, care and love. The beautiful dahlia flowers, which are grown from tubers, are planted in the spring after the last frost!

RANUNCULUS

DAHLIA
Ranunculus is a large genus of about 1750 species of flowering plants!
Members of the genus are known as buttercups, spearworts and water crowfoots!
- This corsage features a soft peach rose with a deep purple rose, bringing rich colors to an already beautiful flower!
Rudbeckia flowers feature a prominent, raised central disc in black, brown shades of green, and in-between tones, giving rise to their familiar common names of coneflowers and black-eyed-susans
Black-Eyed Susans are known for their cheerful golden-yellow petals surrounding a dark brown center. Their bright colors attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators!

Fun Fact: A Black-Eyed Susan is the official state flower of Maryland and is celebrated for its ability to thrive in hot, sunny conditions!
Dahlias are celebrated for their breathtaking variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Native to Mexico and Central America, these spectacular blooms range from petite pompons, to dramatic dinnerplate varieties; measuring over 10 inches across!

Dinnerplate Dahlias – Large, dramatic blooms with layered petals.
Decorative Dahlias – Full, rounded flowers with broad petals.

Pompon Dahlias – Small, tightly packed blooms resembling colorful honeycombs.
BLACK NARCISSUS
Despite the name, this flower isn't truly black—the petals are a deep, velvety burgundy-red that can look almost black in certain light!

STELLAR-FELLER DAHLIA
This flower gets its name because it is simply known as a “stellar” dahlia! Its narrow, pointed petals radiate outward like a star, which is where the “Stellar” classification comes from!
- Tahoma Stellar Feller was named Best Stellar Bloom at an American Dahlia Society show in
2018!
- It was introduced in 2018 by dahlia hybridizer Les Connell in the United States
